Croatia :: island Ugljan

Ugljan is an island in the Zadar archipelago, northwest of the island Pašman and southeast of the islands Rivanj and Sestrunj. It's area is 50 km2 and population 7583. It's separated from the mainland by the Zadar Channel and connected with the island Pašman by a bridge spanning over the Ždrelac Strait. Larger bays are Muline in the northwest and Lamjana Vela and Lamjana Mala in the southeast of Ugljan. The eastern coast descends mildly to the sea. Ugljan is one of the most densely populated Croatian islands. All settlements (Preko, Ugljan, Lukoran, Sutomišćica, Poljana, Kali, Ošljak and Kukljica) are situated along the eastern coast. Ferry port is in Preko, with frequent ferry connections to Zadar.
