Croatia :: Omiš

Omiš (population: 15,800) is a port in Dalmatia, located approximately 25 km south-east of the Croatia's second largest city of Split. Its location is where emerald-green Cetina River meets Adriatic Sea. Omiš was well known in the past by the Corsairs of Almissa whose ships brought fame to them because they were built for attack and fast retrieval into the mouth of the Cetina River, protecting the town from foreign invaders.
